Designing a Logo

This is often the starting point for a project and the impact of a strong and relevant logo should not be underestimated.

Inevitability it will be allowed to drive the design, layout, and colour choices of the site (and of course business cards, letterheads, signage and the like – and more importantly will influence the public's perception of your business for year to come.

Essentially there are four elements that make for a good logo:

  • fundamentally sound design – ugly is ugly – if a design is aesthetically unpleasant the game is over.
  • it must be unique – if it is not recognisably as yours and yours alone it does not serve its main purpose.
  • it must 'work' – it must function well wherever used – from business cards, letterheads, web sites, signage to T-shirts and TV adverts.
  • It must 'fit' – by using visuals to convey both the underlying core message of your business and its market positioning.

Typically we will include the design of a logo in the web site developement process and (this can be a significant saving) will supply the logo in a format suitable for incorporation into letterheads, business cards and signs.
